Do I need to create an account?

No. Download, install, and start editing. There is no sign-up, no licence key, and no phone-home telemetry.

Does ZITEXT collect any data or telemetry?

None. ZITEXT does not phone home, collect usage data, or send crash reports. Your files and editing activity stay entirely on your machine.

What platforms does ZITEXT support?

macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows (x64), and Linux (x64 AppImage). All three platforms are free and receive the same features and updates.

How is ZITEXT funded?

ZITEXT is built and maintained by Zitrino. A future Pro tier for teams and power users will fund continued development and keep the free version free forever.

Can I use ZITEXT for commercial projects?

Absolutely. ZITEXT is free for personal and commercial use with no restrictions. Use it for freelance work, in-house projects, enterprise environments — whatever you need.

Does ZITEXT support extensions or plugins?

Not yet. ZITEXT is intentionally lean — the built-in feature set covers syntax highlighting for 60+ languages, multi-cursor editing, column selection, and JSON/XML/YAML tools without needing plugins. Extension support is on the roadmap for a future release.

Will ZITEXT stay fast as features are added?

Speed is a core design principle. ZITEXT is built on Tauri instead of Electron, which means native performance and a sub-300 ms startup time. We treat any regression in launch speed or memory usage as a bug.
